SNAP Data Recovery

ACS Data Recovery is one of only a few companies that can actually FULLY recover data from failed SNAP devices. There may be other companies that can recover your data, but only by doing a generalized raw recovery, by carving out file types. So in turn, you would receive a folder back with for example, all Word documents, a folder with all Excel files, a folder with all JPG images. The original file names, directory locations, modification dates, etc. would be lost. So if you need data recovery for your SNAP device, finding a company that can actually recover the data with the file system intact, may be difficult at best. However, we can recover SNAP devices while maintaining their original file and folder structure. So unless there is severe corruption within the file system, which is very rare, your data should come back to you looking just like it did before the failure occurred.

SNAP Servers utilize a variety of RAID configurations. All modern Snap Servers include an embedded operating system called GuardianOS.[1] The GuardianOS is a UNIX-like operating system based on the mainstream Linux kernel, and is used on the Snap Server line of network-attached storage devices. Older models used the SnapOS, which is a heavily customized BSD flavor. The SnapOS was originally created by Meridian Data for the Meridian Data Snap! Server, and shipped on products from May 1998 through February 2006.
